Plain Language Statement

You are invited to take part in this research project as you are a representative of a sports club. The aim of this project is to gain insight into the current practice regarding registration and prevention of sports injuries among youth athletes in sports clubs. We know that – from a scientific perspective – some sports injuries may be preventable. Yet, we also know that the uptake of these injury prevention strategies at the local sports club is limited.

As such, we are keen to understand more about the current practices at local sports clubs with respect to injury prevention – specifically focussing on the prevention of youth participants (10 – 21 years of age).

Therefore, we ask you to take part in this very short survey that contains 10 questions. It should take less than 5 minutes to complete and your name is not required. We would like to invite you to participate in a follow-up interview. This interview will last approximately 30 minutes. If you are interested in participating in the follow-up interview you can leave your email address at the end of the questionnaire, or you can send an email to: j.nauta@amsterdamumc.nl. There are no anticipated risks from participation.

Confidentiality

All data collected will be coded to protect your privacy, held in confidence and stored on a secure, password-protected server at Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc with identification numbers only. Data from the online survey are stored in a secure data centre in Switzerland and will be permanently deleted once data collection is complete and all data has been downloaded by the researchers. The online survey does not request information that allows individuals to be identified. Only the Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc research team involved in this study will have access to your data. You are under no obligation to participate in this research and you have the right to withdraw from the survey at any point by exiting or closing the screen. Please only complete this survey once.

Procedure
