Post-doctoral Researcher
Wouter Schallig is a human movement scientist focusing on foot and ankle biomechanics. He obtained his PhD at the department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Amsterdam UMC in 2022 with a thesis entitled: ‘The Amsterdam Foot Model, advancing the clinical assessment of multi-segment foot kinematics during gait’. He works as a postdoc on the BIORUN and Focus on Feet! projects at the Amsterdam UMC. The BIORUN project focuses on studying biomechanical factors that play a role in the development and recovery of Achilles tendinopathy in trained runners. He is also a member of the board of the Rehabilitation & Development program of the Amsterdam Movement Sciences research institute.
