Post-Doctoral Researcher
Igor Tak (1971) is a sport physical therapist working both clinically as well in research and post-graduate education. He is clinical director and consulting sports PT at OOST Physiotherapy Utrecht, a multi disciplinary clinic focusing on sports injury, rehabilitation and research. He holds teaching positions at (international) post-graduate institutes and is currently developing a Masters Program on Elite Athlete Health and Performance at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with Amsterdam University Medical Centre and Amsterdam Collaboration on Health and Safety in Sports.
He performed his doctoral research on hip and groin pain in athletes. His current main research topics are: 1. Injury mechanisms in relation to optimizing return to sports pathways in hip, groin and knee injury; and 2. Sensor technology development and clinical application: from lab to the pitch. He supervises several PhDs.
